- Alcohol consumption should be avoided.
 - Smoking should be avoided.
 - A vegetarian diet should be preferred.
 - Hot beverages like tea,coffee should be avoided.
 - Spicy food should be avoided.
 - Buttermilk should be consumed only in moderate quantities.
 - Salt and sour tasting foods must be minimized.
 - drinking a small glass of cold milk will reduce the burning of the stomach
