Burn rice chaff to a creamish ash.Add 5 gms of edible camphor powder to 100 gm of this ash.Use this powder occasionally to clean teeth.This hardens teeth and even whitens them.

Custard apple leaves in reducing tooth pain

Datun or twig tooth brushes

Ayurveda recommends brushing of teeth with fresh twigs of some trees with medicinal value.The twigs are disposable,totally biodegradable and take care of the oral hygiene.The twigs are softened at one end and frayed.The twigs of the Neem tree, The sacred fig or Peepul tree, Banyan tree, the Indian plum or ber fruit tree, the Java plum or jamun tree, Gum arabic tree and the Mango tree are very commonly used which have many beneficial properties.

Dental health

Put a few drops of mustard oil (used also as a cooking oil)on the rind of a lemon.Rub the rind over the gums and teeth.Rinse the mouth with water.This strengthens the gums and also prevents decay.
