A two in one tip for the strengthening of heart and improving the overall health of children

Munakkas
Munakkas are large and brownish raisins which generally have seeds. They have many medicinal properties.
5-10 munakkas are washed well and are boiled along with 100 ml milk.The milk has to rise thrice for the desired effect.
The milk is cooled till it is lukewarm.The soft munakkas are spooned out of the milk . They are mashed and de-seeded.
Adding a little mishri powder to the milk is optional. The pulp is eaten and it is followed by drinking up the milk.

The dosage for children above 3 years is 5 munakkas but adults can use up to 12.
It can be done for 20 days.
This strengthens the heart, relieves constipation, increases the strength of the liver and can also balance the cholesterol levels. It improves the overall health of sickly and thin children.

A good remedy for soma roga

Soma roga is a problem where there is an excess white discharge accompanied with weakness. The ladies suffering from this problem may also suffer from frequent urination and dryness of the mouth.
This remedy relieves most of the symptoms.
 Mash together :
50 gm of an overripe banana
1 small level teaspoon of amla powder or 5 ml of amla juice.
10 ml of honey and
a little rock candy sugar (mishri) powder.

Eating this mixture twice a day for a week will relieve the symptoms.

Pregnant women and people suffering from diarrhea may have to avoid this.

A tip for dry cough

A betel leaf is cleaned well and the main vein should be torn off.
3 pinches of ajwain ( carom seeds, thymol seeds, vaamu, oma ) is placed on the leaf and the leaf is rolled well.
Chewing on this roll ever so slowly and sucking on the juice will ease the dry cough. This is generally done before bedtime.

Tips to reduce the internal heat in the body due to pitta dosha


  • Practicing Varun mudra helps in relieving the symptoms. 
  • Practicing chandrabedi Pranayam will help in reducing the heat in the body.
  • Drinking buttermilk mixed with a little lemon juice for 4-5 days also helps.
Drinking adequate water is very important.

A simple tip to remove burn marks on the skin

The leaves are dry roasted in a thick bottomed vessel till they get brittle. They are cooled and powdered. The powder is made into a thick paste by adding black sesame seed oil.The mixture is stored in a glass jar.
When this paste is applied on the affected area, the old burn marks slowly fade away. This cannot be used on fresh wounds.
